Honestly — usually not gone. Calmer, yes. Owners consistently report the redness dropping overnight and the spot flat by day 2–3. Twice a day, on the spot. If you need it gone in eight hours, no cream on earth does that.

Yes for red, raised, painful, inflamed spots. No for cystic nodules, fungal acne, blackheads and congestion. It's an anti-inflammatory, not a pore-unclogger. We'd rather tell you now.

In Japan it's sold as a regulated pharmacy product, not a cosmetic. Actives: Ibuprofen Piconol 3% (a topical anti-inflammatory) + IPMP 0.3% (antibacterial). Thin dab, once or twice a day, on the spot only.

It does — a faint herbal, medicinal scent that fades in a couple of minutes. It's a pharmacy product, not a perfume. What it doesn't have is alcohol, which is what was drying and peeling your skin.

Every tube ships sealed, with a printed expiry date, imported directly from Japan.

Every spot treatment I've used left me peeling. This one didn't even sting. I kept checking if it was working.

Put it on at night, had makeup over it by 9am. It goes clear, you can't see it sitting there.

    • No peeling for the first time
Benzoyl peroxide always left me flaking around the spot. This just calmed it down instead.

      Theano M.

    • Threw out my drying lotion
I had a drying lotion I kept re-buying out of habit. Haven't touched it since.

      Rene R.

    • Day 3 and it's flat
It was red and raised on Friday. By Sunday night it was flat. No scab to cover up.

What the research on the active shows

      62%

Rated "definitely improved" or better in an open clinical study of 3% ibuprofen piconol cream (n=100).

      99%

Reported no side effect in that same study — 1 case in 100.

Studies on the active ingredient, ibuprofen piconol, conducted by third parties — not on our customers. Japanese Dermatological Association acne guidelines (2017) list it as an option for mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne.

Not a skincare launch. A Japanese pharmacy company.

Lion Corporation has been making pharmacy products in Japan for over a century.
This isn't a new formula with a new name on it — it's the ibuprofen piconol + IPMP pairing Japanese pharmacies have stocked for decades.

You're Not Alone. Same Chin, Same Jawline.

Everyone below had already tried the drying stuff. Same three spots that keep coming back.
Nobody sold them this — a friend did.

Two actives. One does the swelling, one does the bacteria.

      What's not in it
No ethanol. No rubbing alcohol. Nothing to dry, tighten or peel your skin.
It does contain fragrance — a faint herbal scent that fades in minutes. We'd rather you read it here than find it on an ingredient checker.

Why everything else left the mark behind

Benzoyl peroxide dries the roof off the pimple. Patches only pull once it's come to a head. BHA exfoliates around it.
All three work on the outside. The redness and swelling is an inflammatory reaction happening inside the follicle.
An anti-inflammatory is the only one of the group that switches that reaction off — which is why the bump goes down instead of scabbing over.

What You've Already Tried vs What This Does

Benzoyl peroxide, pimple patches, drying lotions. All three work on the outside of the spot.

        Others
Works on the inflammation inside the follicle
No alcohol — nothing to dry, peel or sting
Works on a deep red spot with no head
Goes clear, so makeup covers it next morning

Will it fade the dark mark it left behind?

No — and anything that tells you it will is lying. There's no niacinamide, tranexamic acid or vitamin C in here. What it does is calm the inflammation earlier, and less inflammation is what limits the mark in the first place. For marks you already have, you need a different product.

It's a known quirk. Pierce the foil seal, don't cut it open, and squeeze from the base of the tube rather than the middle.

Yes. Cleanse, moisturise, then a thin dab on the spot last. Don't layer it on the same spot the same night as benzoyl peroxide or a retinoid — pick one.

24g. As a spot treatment most people get a couple of months from one tube. If you break out in more than one area, two is the honest answer.

It's alcohol-free, and users with reactive skin consistently report no stinging or peeling. It does contain fragrance and parabens. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using any topical anti-inflammatory — we're not going to answer that for you.
